Small Batch voted top dog!
Small Batch Coffee in Brighton has made the top 100 ‘most pet-friendly places’ around the world, according to data compiled over two years by TrustedHousesitters, the house and pet sitting company, of 10,000 animal lovers.
“From 54,000 locations that were recommended worldwide, 30 British places made the top 100, making the UK the most pet-friendly place in the world. The UK came first for pet-friendly cafes, most of which – including Small Batch, which welcomes dogs, cats and even a friendly ferret – can be found in Brighton,” said an announcement from TrustedHousesitters.
Alan Tomlins, co-founder and head of coffee at Small Batch, said: “It’s really nice to have been nominated. We have always made a point of welcoming pets, which are 99% dogs, but we did have a regular of our Goldstone Villas shop who used to bring in a ferret on a lead.
“Brighton did particular well in the listings, with Flour Pot and Bluebird, so nominations seemed to have been skewed in our favour!”
Small Batch, which operates nine cafes in the Brighton area, joins GAIL’s Bakery in Hove, the Flour Pot Bakery in Brighton and the Bluebird Café in Ferring. Other celebrated pet-friendly cafes were named as: The Bay Café, Weston-super-Mare, Baker & Graze, Gloucestershire, Brickwood Coffee & Bread, London and the Cragg Sisters Tearoom in Suffolk.
