Lavazza enters partnership with PepsiCo in category first

Lavazza, is the latest coffee company to enter the ready to drink category in partnership with PepsiCo, with the launch of its Lavazza Iced Cappuccino.

The drink, which combines Lavazza coffee with milk, is being launched at Wimbledon tennis championships today (3 July).

Lavazza is also unveiling its new 100% compostable capsules, Lavazza Eco Caps. These are made with “aroma safe” technology, that creates a barrier against oxygen to keep the coffee fresh and to preserve quality and taste.

 

Illy launches two new cold brew coffee solutions in time for the anticipated summer heatwave

Illy, the premium Italian coffee brand, has launched two new cold brew solutions in time for the summer season.

The Illy Pre-Brewed Bag-in-Box and the Cold Brew Pillow Pack products are ready either in an instant or a matter of hours.

This is the first foray into the cold coffee drinks market for the premium coffee brand and marks the start of a whole new offering for hospitality operators.

Glen Brown, head of sales at Illy Foodservice, said:“With summer upon us, the growing consumer demand for a cool caffeine boost is set to make cold brew coffee one of the biggest trends of summer 2019. In fact, the global cold brew coffee market is worth $29m and is expected to reach $170m by 2025

Illy’s cold brew coffee solutions are available now from Euro Food Brands, the official Illy distributer in the UK.

 

New stronger tea blends in pyramid bags from Twinings

Twinings launches two new teas especially for the hospitality sector: All Day, a decaf, and The Full English, a breakfast blend.

Both products, it said, have been created to “maximise the tea experience out-of-home and create drinks that delight”.

Both new blends come in a heavier bag weight at 3g and have been created by master blenders to deliver “the best possible tea in the complex catering environment”. The heavier weight pyramid bags are also designed for a 330ml serve, which is the equivalent of a tea pot of water, and met the trend for a stronger taste so they brew with greater strength.

 

Radnor creates Splash with new water variant

Radnor Hills, producers of award-winning soft drinks from their family farm in Powys, Mid Wales,  has reformulated its flavoured water range Radnor Splash, as well as introducing a new shaped, 100% recylable bottle for the 500ml variant.

Radnor Splash is one of Radnor Hills most successful brands made using all natural colours and flavours, blended with pure spring water which is drawn from their land in rural mid-Wales.

The range is available in a 500ml still (sports cap) and a 330ml sparkling format in six winning flavour combinations including: Apple & Blackcurrant, Orange, Forest Fruits, Strawberry, Peach and the bestselling flavour Lemon and Lime.

As well as its Radnor Splash range, Radnor Hills produces a diverse range of spring water, functional  waters, sparkling premium pressés, fruit juices and school compliant drinks. 

 

Starbucks' colourful iced beverages for summer

Starbucks in the US and Canada has introduced new and colourful iced teas and coffees to its menu.

Teavana [TM] Flavored Tea Lemonades and Flavored Iced Teas come in three flavours and will be available all year round: Teavana Peach Green Tea Lemonade; Teavana Guava White Tea Lemonade; and Teavana Blueberry Black Tea Lemonade.

Its new Iced Cocoa Cloud Macchiato joins Starbucks’ range of ‘Cloud Macchiatos’.
