Butterflycup launches 100% recyclable cup
Butterflycup Bio has launched a 100% recyclable cup for disposal in general paper and cardboard recycling schemes.
The cup, which was developed to satisfy the rising demand for a genuine and easily recyclable disposable cup, provided the benefits of:
- Being 100% plastic free
- Made with products sourced sustainably
- Eliminating the need for plastic lids or straws
Called Butterflycup ISLA, Caroline Gohery, business development manager, said being able to recycle a coffee cup in the normal paper recycling facilities was a major step forward.
ISLA paper is waterproofed by coating pure and natural PEFC and FSC certified paperboard with a unique water-based, dispersion barrier, thereby avoiding any need for a laminate coating.

Cannabis and hemp products showcase at Expo
The new wave of cannabis and hemp products were evident at the Expo this year, as consumer interest in the health benefits grow.
Forever Hemp Tea & Coffee owner Amer Metz, which specialises in CBD and hemp oil products, including a range of teas, said there was increasing recognition about both the amazing health and environmental benefits from growing hemp.
Its range of three teas, Pure, Relax and Balance, presented a hemp tea for every occasion and came in teabags or Nespresso compatible pods.
Body & Mind Botanicals, which produces a range of cannabis derived products including Cannabis Tea, has a choice of tea bags, loose tea and also peppermint-flavoured Cannabis Tea.
Russell Kerr, founder of independent coffee chain Doctor Espresso, said cannabis tea was selling well in all of his shops. “People will come in and buy a tea to drink, but then also buy a box of 10 bags to drink at home, which we can sell at a premium price,” he said.
