Teapigs has revealed it has been awarded 18 Great Taste Awards.
One of its blends to receive an award was teapigs’ everyday brew. Its signature blend and equivalent to an everyday “builders’ brew” received a two star rating with the judges describing it as “a bright infusion” that has “briskness, good malitness and grip”.
Louise Cheadle, teapigs’ co-founder and chief tea taster said: “We do our best to source the best quality and best tasting tea out there and it’s brilliant to get feedback like this. Since day one we’ve been on a mission to get people drinking real tea again so it’s fantastic to be recognized for the work we’ve done so far.”

Lowlander focuses on botanical low alcohol beers for summer
Lowlander has launched new Botanical Infusion beers to cater for summer drinkers.
The beer has no artificial sugars, has 82 calories a bottle and a 2.5% abv.
Lowlander’s Infusions are best served as a long drink garnished with fresh mint or pink grapefruit, it said.
The low alcohol range features two natural flavours; Ginger & Kaffir Lime and Yuzu & Pink Grapefruit - a hybrid infusion of fruit, botanicals, natural teas and beer. Lowlander’s Botanically Brewed Infusions cut down on the alcohol content, instead introducing aromatics such as fine teas to complement the botanicals.
Earlier this year Lowlander launched its first no-alcohol beer. The Lowlander 0.00% Wit (White) Beer is brewed with reclaimed citrus peel from bars and restaurants.
Low-alcohol beer launched for wine-lovers
Binary Botanical has launched a new low-alcohol beer for wine-lovers.
The beer produced by Good Living Brewing Company has a 0.5% ABV and is also vegan and gluten-free.
The new variant has a tangy aromatic profile and is infused for five days with organic leaves from Sovereign and First Gold hop bines. According to the brewer, these hop bine leaves add a unique flavour that combines the “refreshment of an ice cold beer with the tropical notes of a crisp Sauvignon Blanc, the soft effervescence and tanginess of Prosecco, and finally something verdant and herbal that’s reminiscent of gin and tonic."
Good Living Brewing Company was established by a team of women with years’ of experience of the brewing industry, who set out to create a new style of beer which would appeal to wine-lovers and people who think they don’t like beer.
Soft Drinks company opens new factory
London soft drinks company Square Root has officially opened a new factory in Walthamstow to cater for growing demand. It has sold over 2.5 million bottles since launching at a farmer’s market stall in 2012.
The new factory will enable Square Root to produce, in one day, what the previous space could do in an entire week.
Square Root founders Ed Taylor and Robyn Simms began making ginger beer to sell at a local farmers market. In 2013 they founded the Square Root Soda Works with the aim of creating innovative new drinks that were made with as much effort and quality as alcoholic drinks.
