Notes launches speciality instant coffee to out of home sector

Notes, the speciality coffee roaster, has joined forces with Voilà, the US based instant coffee supplier, to offer what it calls a first for UK café and out of home operators – speciality, single origin instant coffee.

The partnership with Notes will see the two create a limited-edition speciality complex coffee, with beans from La Cuevita in Colombia. The partnership will be Voilà’s first collaboration with a UK speciality coffee roaster.  Voilà has been developed using a unique processing technique with the coffee brewed in large batches similar to a filter or drip coffee. It is then freeze dried into a crystallised form.

Fabio Ferreira, co-founder of Notes Coffee, said: “Here at Notes Coffee Roasters our goal has always been to deliver high quality, speciality coffee to our coffee-loving customers, wherever they find themselves - at a Notes coffee shop, at home or at the office. We were so excited when we heard about Voilà's instant coffee technology and thrilled to be the first UK coffee roaster to partner with them. We can now offer our delicious, direct trade Colombian coffee - La Cuevita from Nariño, in a super-convenient form - just add hot water.”

Kent Sheridan, founder of Voilà, said that Ferreira “hunted” him down to taste Notes recent coffees.

“As we’ve worked together to make this partnership happen, I’ve really fallen in love with Notes Coffee and their team. They’re fun to work with and continue to impress me with the high calibre coffees they bring to the table," Sheridan said.

Earlier this year the founders of Notes told Beverage Business World that it had plans to expand its wholesale business.

It recently opened its 10th site in London's Canada Water but confirmed that there were no more sites expected to open this year.
