New Spanish cafe concept is on expansion trail
New Spanish café concept, Morano’s Churreria y Chocolateria, is looking to roll-out its freshly made Galician churros, hot chocolate and coffee to other nearby towns, following a successful debut in Milton Keynes.
Founder and CEO Luis Ponte, with his partner restaurateur Chris Fox, opened their first Morano's site in the heart of Milton Keynes’ shopping centre, opposite John Lewis, in August and have plans to open five over the next three years, with the second proposed for St Albans after Christmas.
“We import all our ingredients from Spain, even the tables, seating and tiles, so our café offer won’t be competing with the likes of Costa,” said Ponte.
The concept is 100% self-funded and will grow ‘organically’, with sites chosen around Ponte’s and Fox’s Buckingham base. Fox is the owner of the Italian restaurant and bar, Prego, in the town.
