PRICE WATCH: McDonald’s launches flat white + prices rise on the high street
UCC-Coffee has launched its February Price Watch, reporting a fairly turbulent month that has seen price increases at two of the high street’s biggest names: Pret A Manger and Caffe Nero.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s has added a flat white to its menu. “While it’s not the first non-specialist to introduce the popular drink to its core menu, it is indicative of how these operators are raising the bar and driving the coffee market’s growth,” reports UCC.
McDonald’s is pricing its new addition at £1.89.
The Price Watch is a monthly report from UCC, which gathers data on what’s happening on the high street and takes stock of hot beverage prices – looking for changes in price, range, and spotting trends along the way. All the major high street names are included, from Starbucks and Costa to Greggs, Wetherspoon, Waitrose and M&S.
