Kore Directive to promote women in coffee

A female-focussed coffee network for women working in the UK’s speciality coffee industry, The Kore Directive, is holding a launch event on November 15 at Volcano Coffee Works in Brixton.

The launch will give women the opportunity to learn more about the aims of The Kore Directive, its goals and future events and workshops.

Founder of The Kore Directive Sierra Burgess-Yeo explained that it was an opportunity for women working in the coffee sector to come together, network and ultimately have access to a range of events from training to discussion panels, with guest speakers.

“We also want to demonstrate that there are a variety of roles and responsibilities that are available in coffee, both on-and-off the bar, and along the supply chain, and provide space for organic community growth and collaboration in the future,” said Burgess-Yeo.

The project plans to consist of twice-monthly workshops, which will alternate between casual meet-ups in a variety of coffee spaces around London.
