JING launches summer afternoon tea with The Savoy
The afternoon tea, which will be served in the Thames Foyer, will offer three Darjeeling teas, two of which are exclusive to The Savoy. These teas have been picked at origin by Thomas Wickens, The Savoy tea ambassador.
The exclusive teas include JING Darjeeling Moonlight. This tea has been processed from the newly created cultivar of the tea bush, which accentuates the high floral flavours.
The second exclusive is the JING Darljeeling 2nd Flush Castleton Muscatel, which is extracted in the “firing of the leaves” and is described as "warm and comforting with dried fruit notes."
The last tea available with the tea experience is the Darjeeling First Flush 2019, the winner of the JING Excellence at Origin Competition, which is from the Seeyok Tea Estate.
Wickens said: ‘We are extremely excited to launch this partnership with JING. It marks the beginning of our new Afternoon Tea concept, and truly solidifies The Savoy as serving the best teas in London."
JING is stocked in over 100 michelin-starred restaurants around the world, in hotels and high quality cafes.
Afternoon tea at The Savoy has been a feature of the hotel since it opened in 1889.
The Savoy’s Afternoon tea menu starts at £65 per person.
