Exhibitor Profile: Yogi Tea

Yogi Tea is the original organic and ayurvedic herb and spice tea brand, created by Yogi Bhajan in the 1970’s.

According to the company it was the first range of well-being teas to be launched in the developing natural foods sector and today remains independent, community owned and a “not for profit”.

Peter Otto, UK & Ireland sales manager, at Yogi Tea explains why it is showcasing at European Coffee, Tea & Soft Drinks Expo

 

What are the main products/brands/services you’ll be exhibiting at European Coffee, Tea & Soft Drinks  Expo?

We don’t have shareholders and invest our profits with our growers communities around the world. We buy over 80 organic ingredients, many from developing countries and we try and support the growers communities with key local projects, such as schools, orphanages, doctors surgeries, roads and bridges.

At the Expo, we will focus on two new launches. Firstly, a unique range of organic herb and spice infusions in tea bags, with added essential oils for an enhanced sensory experience, and secondly a range of true brewed teas, which are organic, in 330ml glass bottles.

 

Why have you decided to exhibit at European Coffee, Tea & Soft Drinks Expo?

We made contact because of the shows link to National Tea Day and our desire is to enter the mainstream foodservice and retail sectors.

 

What do you see as the key current opportunities and challenges for the sector right now?

The challenge is to find quality, affordable, innovative products, which meet a clear consumer need. We think our two new launches provide true innovation and are very timely given the needs of the consumer.
